Anurag Basu , maker of hard-hitting successful films like Murder and Gangster , now comes up with his latest flick ‘Metro’ which has an impressive cast ensemble consisting of Shilpa Shetty , Shiney Ahuja , Kay Kay Menon Kangana Ranaut , Sharman Joshi , Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma . 
Kay Kay plays a man married to Shilpa but having an extramarital affair with Kangana. Shilpa plays a bored housewife who gets attracted to Shiney, a failed theatre artist. Sharman plays a young ambitious guy who loves Kangana. Konkona plays a thirty-year-old girl who is a virgin and looking for a suitable man to marry. Irrfan plays a man looking for a suitable girl. Through a tale of these characters, the movie’s story explores different emotions like lust, greed, sex, love, ambition, betrayal, despair and a new hope. In director Anurag Basu’s words, the film’s story is very close to his heart. “That’s because the film is derived from my personal experience of living a tough life in a metro city: chasing people and living in a rat-race. I experienced it when I lived in Bhilai earlier and now in Mumbai,” Basu is quoted as saying. ‘Metro’ also marks Basu’s temporary departure from Mahesh Bhatt’s banner Vishesh Films. ‘Metro’ is made under the banner of UTV. The film has already had lavish premieres in Sydney, Melbourne and London. Now it hits the theatres worldwide on May 11.
