Randeep was getting quite stereotyped playing either a gangster or a cop in his films D and Risk . Now, the young actor has taken on the challenge of portraying the very complex role of painter Raja Ravi Verma in Ketan Mehta ’s film Rang Rasiya . 
So it is a healthy transition from guns to paintbrush for Randeep. However, Randeep’s mettle as an actor is being tested in playing the complex role of Raja Ravi Verma. Firstly, Randeep had to learn the art of painting so as to look convincing in the scenes in which he is shown painting canvases. He had to get the brush strokes right. On top of it, Randeep has to portray thirty years in the life of this character. He ages from 18 to 50 in the film. The problem is that the movie is not being shot in chronological order. Sometimes the scenes of the painter’s youth are shot and sometimes his old days. In order to bring conviction in his performance, Randeep has to constantly keep the character’s traits and idiosyncrasies in mind. By the way, Randeep turns 31 on August 20. As he gets a year older, Randeep feels his career is going in the right direction.
