HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Himesh Reshammiya in Karz remake06th Aug 2007 17.09 IST By ApunKaChoice Himesh Reshammiya is set to play the lead role in the remake of the 1980 hit Karz. The original movie, directed by Subhash Ghai , had Rishi Kapoor playing the lead role of a reincarnated man who avenges his killing in previous life by his unfaithful wife (played by Simi Garewal ). Laxmikant Pyarelal’s music was definitely one of the strong points of the film. 
Now, T-Series has bought the rights to remake the film from Ghai’s company Mukta Arts. And Himesh Reshammiya has been roped in to play the reincarnated singer. Surprisingly, the film will not be directed by Himesh’s longtime friend Prashant Chadha (who directed all his music videos and his debut film Aap Ka Suroor ). Rather, T-Series is looking forward to get another director for the film. Prashant, on the other hand, is reportedly working on another film for T-Series. It goes without saying that Himesh will have a daunting task of matching the melodious compositions by Laxmikant Pyarelal in the film’s remake. Himesh has made it clear that from now on he will only compose music for his films. Reshammiya’s heroines in the film are yet to be finalized.
