HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Aman Verma being 'threatened'28th July 2005 09.14 IST By Agencies A local Mumbai court on Wednesday ordered the Versova police to investigate the criminal complaint of TV actor Aman Verma , who was caught in a sting operation on the casting couch in Bollywood by a private channel. Verma's advocate Dipesh Mehta said the court had, under Section 156 of the CrPC, asked the police to investigate the matter. 
The actor had filed a complaint with Andheri Metropolitan Court alleging that the channel wanted to "blackmail and extort money" from him. The magistrate, after hearing both the sides, said he would deliver the orders on July 26. Mehta said they had filed the complaint against India TV CEO Rajat Sharma, programme manager Suhaib Ilyasi and journalist Ruchi in the Andheri court. In the complaint, Verma said Ruchi had called him several times in December 2004 and told him that she was an aspiring actress from New Delhi and intended to come to Mumbai to seek his assistance. On December 17, 2004, Ruchi had come to meet him at his residence and enquired about the working of the film industry, Verma said. "After the conversation with her lasting around 15-20 minutes, when I opened the door, Ilyasi and another man with a camera were standing outside," Verma said, adding, Ilyasi said they had recorded the conversation and would telecast it if he (Verma) failed to agree to their demands. Verma said for the last three months he had been receiving calls for various favours from a journalist, who was also issuing threats. The complainant also urged the court to issue summons to the accused trio who are charged under various sections of the IPC.
