HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Amitabh cracked pranks on Ramya!02nd Aug 2005 20.25 IST By Nitika Desai The jocular side of Amitabh Bachchan ’s personality came to the fore while shooting for the Kannada film Amrutha Dhaare. Bachchan doesn’t play a full-fledged role in the movie, but plays a six-minute cameo as himself, the Bollywood superstar. 
Being directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, Amrutha Dhaare is a film about a woman who is a die-hard fan of Amitabh Bachchan. She longs to meet her cine idol once. It is on her death-bed her wish is fulfilled when the superstar comes to meet her. Actress Ramya is the film’s heroine while Dhyan is the hero. Ramya recounts how jocular Mr. Bachchan was while shooting for the movie. In an interview, she recalls how during one shoot Mr. Bachchan came and sat by her side and told her he was a good palm reader. He ‘read’ her palm and told her that she was a possessive person, she was often misunderstood and had stomach problems. Ramya was shocked by Bachchan’s palm reading skills, as he was eventually “right on all counts”. To Ramya’s amazement, the Big B laughed and said that every film artiste was possessive and felt that he or she was misunderstood. He also added that film artistes usually had stomach problems because they were not used to eating food on time. In another instance, Ramya recalled how during the shooting of one particular scene she was supposed to hug Bachchan. She hugged the superstar and when she opened her embrace after a minute or so, Bachchan cracked the joke and said “So soon?”. “I was laughing all the time when I was with him (Bachchan). I was overawed by his simplicity, his attitude to be friendly with all the members of the unit,” Ramya is quoted as saying.
