HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD 'Entertainment with message' is Vinod Chopra’s mantra16th Feb 2007 15.27 IST By ApunKaChoice According to filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra , a good film should not just entertain, it should also give a message. There has been a seven-year gap between Chopra’s previous directorial movie Mission Kashmir and his latest one, Eklavya . For nearly five years, the filmmaker was working on the movie’s script. The reason why it took so much time is because Chopra is not just content in providing entertainment through his movies. He also aims at giving a message, but not in a preachy way. And to balance these two aspects of creativity takes time. 
If Lage Raho Munnabhai (produced by Chopra) gave the message of Gandhigiri, then ‘Eklavya’, too, has a message to give. It talks about Dharma, about duty and morality. Through the story of ‘Eklavya, The Royal Guard’ Chopra wants to tackle the question whether we should follow dead traditions or not. At the same time the film provides entertainment also. There is a love story, there is action, stunts, drama and more. It is this fusion of ‘entertainment and message’ that forms Chopra’s cinematic style.
