Dimitri Diatchenko began his acting studies in 1990 at Stetson University in Deland, Florida, where he was a scholarship music student,majoring in classical guitar performance. After completing the Bachelors program, Dimitri matriculated to Florida State University in Tallahassee Florida where he continued with his acting and music studies in the Masters program. Dimitri's first acting experience was as the lead in the play, Foxfire", by Hume Cronin, where he played the country music star, Dillard Nations. Dimitri continued to develop his acting skills both on stage and on camera in Florida-based projects from 1990 - 1996, while studying with Ken Stilson and George Judy. Some of these projects include the award winning short films, "Third on a Match", "Used Cars" and "GoiterBoy". In April of 1996, as Dimitri was graduating with his Masters degree from Florida State University, he landed a small role as a Navy Seal in the feature film, "G.I. Jane", directed by Ridley Scott and starring Demi Moore. Dimitri moved out to Los Angeles in September and officially started his professional acting career. Within the last nine years, Dimitri has appeared in many television shows, commercials and films, ranging from the stereo-typical Russian Mafia Boss to a homeless man. Some of these shows include the new TNT action episodic, "Wanted", Disney TV's, the Suite Lifeî, "Alias", "Walker, Texas Ranger", "V.I.P.", "Diagnosis Murder", "Fame LA", "Pensacola: wings of gold", and "18 Wheels of Justice".
Presently Dimitri continues to land roles in TV, film and commercials while exercising his creativity in the writing and producing side of the industry. Dimitri just finished working on the feature film, "Miriam", directed and co-written by Matt Cimber. In this World War II period piece, Dimitri plays the leading man role of Alexi Mironov, a KGB agent who falls in love with Miriam Schaffer, played by Arianna Savalas. The story is of Miriam's life as a Jew, surviving through the horrors of WWII and living under a different name as a Lithuanian after the war. With the help of Alexi, she is able to keep her secret and live a relatively normal life with Alexi and her daughter. This film is now in post-production phase and will be released in early 2006, following appearances at various film festivals, both domestic and international.As a Voice Over actor, Dimitri will be heard playing several roles in the 2005 releases of the video games, "Soldier of Fortune", "007: James Bond 6", "Quake 4", and "Medal of Honor 4". His latest starring roles include the comedy/drama, the Longest Yardsaleî, written by Vincent Perenti, the short film, Roma Sub Rosaî, written by Jim Thalman, the award winning short film, "Norman J. Lloyd", and the comedy pilot, "Jungle Gym", the latter two of which Dimitri co-wrote and star in. |
